On March 5th, Austin Texas participated in a 24-hour fundraising event called Amplify Austin. The goal was to raise $1 Million in 24 hours for local non-profits; the idea was to inspire Austinites to give their money as generously as they do their time. The newly launched Back On My Feet Austin Chapter participated by hosting a 12 hour Treadmill Challenge to raise awareness and funds. From 7 am - 7 pm runners took shifts on a treadmill located outside of RunTex downtown. Britney Jo volunteered for the 3-4 pm shift and with a lot of cheering (and water) completed a 1 hour run for BoMF! At the end of the 24 hours, Austin surpassed its goal and raised $2.8 Million in 24 hours for local non-profits!!Wednesday, March 6, 2013
